Can I open a Word file without Microsoft Word?
Yes. PDFCart displays .docx documents in your browser on any computer or phone — no Word, Office or account needed.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The document is opened and displayed entirely on your device.
Can PDFCart be the default app for Word files?
Yes, on Windows and Mac with Chrome or Edge. Install PDFCart, then right-click a .docx file → Open with → Choose another app → PDFCart, and tick “Always”. Word files then show the blue PDFCart “doc” icon.
What about old .doc files?
Old Word 97–2003 files (.doc) can't be displayed in a browser. Use Word to PDF to convert them, then read the PDF.
Can I edit the document?
The viewer is for reading. To change a document, convert it to PDF and use Edit PDF, or edit it in Word or Google Docs.
